SUMMARY:
The Personal Lines Producer is responsible for selling new business to ensure continued profitable growth for the agency. Will prospect for new clients, sell additional coverages to existing clients and services and retain existing accounts to achieve personal production goals. The Personal Lines Producer is also responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of assigned account management staff, ensuring quality to provide excellent service, and ensuring client retention.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Contact prospects, schedule appointments, and make effective sales presentations
- Develop prospecting programs and follow-up for maximum results
- Maintain prospect list of clients for the target business
- Balance production to achieve the desired mix of business and promote products of carriers that the agency has identified as key
- Coordinate and communicate production efforts with the department manager, service, and marketing personnel
- Accurately and thoroughly complete the risk assessment survey and application form before marketing or submitting it to insurers
- Arrange payment terms for all accounts in accordance with agency policies
- Review and Discuss information on renewals and deliver applicable policy information to support staff, following agency guidelines
- Provide supervision to all assigned colleagues, including cross-training, performance management, training and development, coaching, and disciplinary action
- Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and quality of assigned colleagues, to ensure excellent internal and external customer satisfaction
- Conduct department meetings with account management staff to inform, obtain input, and train staff on procedures, current developments, etc
- Proactively address, resolve and monitor staff issues, demonstrating and fostering good morale within the department
- Provide a confident and professional leadership presence, demonstrating a positive outlook and motivating employees, by promoting individual excellence and achievement, as well as a team concept
- Keep abreast of trends and techniques, within the industry, to maintain a competitive status for the agency
- Attend sales seminars, company sales meetings, or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques, stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the marketplace, and maintain a required license
- Refer current and prospective clients to Employee Benefits and Commercial Insurance Departments for solicitation of those lines of business, if applicable
- Assure all activities relating to the public, clients and companies are managed appropriately, to avoid potential errors and omissions.
- Assist in mentoring programs as established by Department Manager and/or Director
