Role and Responsibilities
Your goal will be to create a learning environment that provides inmates/detainees the opportunity to maximize their learning potential and achieve or enhance an ability to perform vocational tasks. This role will require you to:
- Provide instruction to inmates/detainees for various labor and/or technical skills. through classroom instruction, demonstration, and practical exercises.
- Maintain records including testing, daily offender work, attendance and general record-keeping.
- Assess educational needs of inmates, develop lessons plans to address those needs to include individualized assignments and training.
- Administer, score, and interpret examinations and proficiency indicators.
- Counsel your students concerning their performance, behavior, and personal problems.

Qualifications
Competencies Required
If you have a natural ability for working in a team with a wide variety of members and you're truly driven by the joy of seeing your students thrive, this is the right job for you. Apply if you have:
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree or high school diploma/equivalency and five (5) years relevant wage-earning work experience required.
- Two (2) years teaching experience required.
- Valid teaching certification from the state Department of Education or comparable authority required.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license. (Oklahoma State Requirement)
Physical Requirements
- Frequently: lift or carry up to 10 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, walk, sit or stand.
- Occasionally: lift or carry up to 20 lbs.; push or pull up to 40 lbs.
