Developer

Includes various IT functions in the internal information systems function including systems and applications development. Responsible for developing information systems within a specific functional area. Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas including manufacturing, finance, human resources, and marketing. Requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics. Typical duties:Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, and tests/debugs programs. Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. Trains users in conversion and implementation of system. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Developing professional expertise; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
